PTW: In Their Own Words
Let's hear from students, staff, parents,.. stating in their own words what the PTW program has meant to them and how it has impacted their personal journey in life.
One thing I’ve learned in this program is always be yourself and always try your best no matter what you do. And friends are your biggest support because when I was younger, I never had any friends, I was all on my own, until I came to PTW, I finally found out what a friend is. It’s just a world where you can have a relationship with someone in a unique way.

Here are my thoughts on LIU. What I learned from PTW was how to work as a team specifically through the stores I went through. The teachers helped me when giving him some challenging questions. Since the start of the program, I have improved in finding myself and what I specifically want to do and I only recommend it to people who want to find out what they want to do later in life

Since joining the program, I have improved at… Making friends and hanging out with some of the second year students. I also have improved on not getting upset over every little thing and or talking about it. I also have improved listening by not calling out every 5 seconds. I also have improved by getting a friend group from the second year. The teachers and staff supported me by… encouraging me to use my ideas or thought process when working on certain projects and assignments. They also supported me by not going to Hillwood aka the Disney Springs of LIU. The staff also supported me by pushing myself to make other friends, just remember I visited during the summer so I basically know all the second years.

One thing I've learned in this program is about the different career clusters. To be positive and always be professional and respectful to others. To be a team player and to know how to talk to your boss.
The PTW transition program has helped me feel more confident because I like to participate and I'm not shy when talking to someone. I make sure that I have good eye contact and make sure that I speak clearly so the person can understand me.
