Bronx Bombers Go for the Sweep! 6/22/23
The New York Yankees defeated the Seattle Mariners last night 4-2. Johny Brito was opposing Luis Castillo who came to The Mariners in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds last year. Former Mariner Jake Bauers unleashed a two run home run off of Castillo in the Third inning after Harrison Bader singled and stole second base. Then Billy Micinney hit a solo shot in the fourth inning to push the lead to three. The Yankees are looking to sweep the Mariners right out of the stadium tonight. Last night's win resulted in yet another injury when Willie Calhoun strained his quad in the eighth inning. With new injuries occurring every other day, I feel like the pressure in the Big Apple is too much for any Yankee to handle, and I really do feel like New York is not a place you want to live in all because of how the media is here.
Stanley Cup Final Wrap-up
By Bradley Gefter
All hockey fans we have a crowns and you Stanley Cup champion on Tuesday, May 13, 2023. They are the Vegas Golden Knights. They have beaten the Florida Panthers 4 games to 1. It was a very one-sided series. Founded in 2017, the owner stated that the team will win in 6 years and they did just that. Lord Stanley was given out to them. The Con Smythe Trophy (MVP) was given out to Jonathan Marchessault who scored 13 goals and got 25 points throughout the playoffs. While doing that he recorded a point in every game of the finals.
The Endless Yankees Woes Continue
By Brandon Okowsky

The New York Yankees once again suffered another devastating loss last night at the hands of the New York Mets. Yankees ace Gerrit Cole was opposing Mets ace Justin Verlander, both of whom were teammates for the Houston Astros from 2018 to 2019. Both aces got no decisions since the game went to extra innings with the score tied up at three. Brandon Nimmo won the game for the Mets with his walk-off double off Albert Abreu which brought in Eduardo Escobar from second base. The Yankees are getting nowhere at all because of these injuries, the way the hitters are struggling so much like Anthony Rizzo, Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson, and the choices Owner Hal Stienbrenner, General Manager Brian Cashman, and Manager Aaron Boone are making. I have a bad feeling everything about the Yankees will continue to snowball unless Aaron Judge comes back sooner rather than later and if they make better choices at the trade deadline and during the offseason. If they don’t secure a playoff spot this season, then Stienbrenner, Cashman, and Boone all must be held accountable (responsible).
Nuggets Wins First Title!
By Brandon Okowsky
The Denver Nuggets won their first ever NBA Title last night against the Miami Heat in Denver. I was rooting for the Nuggets over the Heat because the Heat are the team who knocked the Knicks out of the playoffs. Denver won the series four games to one. Being a Knick fan I personally feel that the Miami Heat got exactly what they deserve after winning the series against the Knicks four games to two. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets played big roles during this intense winner takes all series.
The White House Hosts the Super Bowl Winners Kansas City Chiefs
By Bradley Gefter 6/8/23
The Kansas City Chiefs missed a White House visit after winning the Super Bowl in 2020. Travis Kelce made up for lost time on Monday, June 5th, 2023. The Chiefs tight end joined his teammates at the White House on Monday at the invitation of President Joe Biden to celebrate their Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles in February. Travis Kelce snook to the podium and said “ I've been waiting for this” before getting cut off by the quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Stanley Cup Finals

The Vegas Golden Knights are currently up two games in the Stanley Cup Finals over the Florida Panthers. The score in game one was five to two and the score in game two which was last night was seven to two. The Panthers have some serious work ahead of them if they want to get back in the series and win the Stanley Cup. If the Golden knights win two more games, the trophy will be all theirs, and it will be their first title in their franchise which began in Winter, 2017. Game three is Thursday night 6/8 in Florida where the Panthers will try to make their fans happy by trying to win on their home ice.

The Vegas Golden Knights are preparing for game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers Saturday night at 8:00 PM. Game 1 and Game 2 will be played in Sin City (Las Vegas) before the series moves over to Florida. I don’t care which team wins the trophy because the teams who knocked the New York Rangers and New York Islanders out were later erased themselves. Those teams were the Carolina Hurricanes and the New Jersey Devils. The Golden Knights and Panthers have both yet to win the Stanley Cup and we will see which team will win it once the series is called a wrap. Either the Golden Knights or the Panthers will capture the Stanley Cup.
The Yankees Fighting Through Never Ending Injuries
by Brandon Okowsky
May 30, 2023
The New York Yankees are currently in a three game series with the Seattle Mariners at T- Mobile Park. They won the first game 10 to 4 all thanks to Domingo German who pitched seven innings and allowed four runs while Aaron Judge launched two home runs. During the game, Harrison Bader left with hamstring tightness as a precaution. He just got back after recovering from an oblique strain and now he might go to the injured list again. I feel like the Yankees won’t ever be a complete team since they can’t avoid getting injured. This happens all the time. Hal Steinnbrenner refuses to make any changes like bringing in new doctors or new personal trainers or even new medicine. After this series, they will head to Los Angeles to play the LA Dodgers. Los Angeles is where Giancarlo Stanton grew up.
